My life, my change: Miracle could happen if you really work on it

Not only post my photography work in my blog, but I would love to share my personal change and experience through out this half year...

5 years ago, I was a hiking lover, I won't miss any day to go hiking. At 1 day like my ordinary hiking day, weather turned bad (it looks like gonna rain), I was rushing to go down from hill. I thought I am good in control my stability when I go down hill, the worst thing happened, I'd injured my right knee because I was using the "jumping" method to go down hill. After the injured, doctor advice me that I am no longer allow to do heavy sports like hiking, badminton, volleyball, etc etc. I am so sad. I try to play those sports, but turn up my knee pain. I was gone through injection (pain killer), physio, but it doesn't works. Doctor suggested me to go for operation but I reject due to the low chance of recovery. From that time, my weight also increase due to no exercise.

After many years, and up to 9 months ago, my friend ask me to join for Penang round island relay marathon in Dec'11. Due to we don't have enough member to join the team, I decided to give myself this challenge. The training starts in tough way... Frankly speaking, I don't even can jog/run more than 5 minutes. I was thinking to quit the game but then, if I quit, the whole gang is actually disqualified from joining the run. I cannot be just selfish, and I keep continue to run. From 5 minutes run + 5 minutes walk +... (up to 30 minutes each exercise session), slowly improve to 10 minutes run + 5 minutes walk + ... (until 30 minutes). My first marathon was the Penang round island, my route is about 5km, honestly I couldn't perform well, I took 40+ minutes to complete the 5km. I felt so sorry to the team members.

After the Penag round island run, the next marathon I participate is the Penang Malakoff Marathon in Mar'12. This time i registered for 7km. Although, all of my friends registered for 17km, and their gave me the courage by asking me to join for 17km, but I am still don't have confidence to complete the 17km. So 7km is the max for me that time. I continue my training by improve my running time up to 30 minutes non stop. But I still feel I am not good enough. Took 50 minutes to complete 7km. For myself knee issue, I know I doing the best, with no regret :)

I am not stop there, I continue to join the KL Standard Chartered Marathon for 21km (half marathon) on Jun'12. Because I told myself, as long as I got the target I can do it! I really push hard to myself to train hard. I start with my jogging daily, get sunburned, as I said, I cannot get down during the run. Thank God my hard work works, I manage to run at 1 hour non stop during my training time. I run because I want to get stamina. And I never expect I lost weight 8kg in 3 months time. This first 21km, I manage to completed at 2 hours 37 minutes without stopping. I'm bless and happy after completed the run!

As now I continue to participate in half marathon in the coming time, because I know I can do it. Nevertheless, I also go abroad to join Singapore Standard Chartered Marathon in Dec'12. This is my dream!

So I believe, miracle could happen if you really work on it. And, I made it!
